amendments
1st amendmentThe first Amendment protects the people from the government establishing an official national religion, so you are allowed to practice any religion you please in any way you please. It also states that we have the right to gain information from many different sources, meaning that the government cannot control what is broadcasted on the radio and tv, or what is being written in books or newspapers. Another thing it protects is our freedom to speak and believe what we please and the government can not make laws prohibiting us to do so. The last thing that the 1st amendment promises, is that we have the right to gather peacefully and protest peacefully without the interference of the government.
